Subproject A04 — Heuristics and Repertoires of Collective Security: a Comparative Analysis in the Field of International Law

The subproject questions whether and under what conditions the perception and characterisation of international relations as a problem of security provides the impetus for juridification and institutionalisation processes in international law, and at the same time, triggers the collectivisation of international security. There to, the project takes the relationship between securitization and juridification/institutionalisation processes in international law in into account. The focus lies on the pioneer phase preliminary to the foundation of the two important international peacekeeping organisations of the 20th century, the League of Nations and the United Nations.
